Parks & Recreation

SB City Recreation Logo

The City of San Bernardino is home to thirty-three parks that span approximately five hundred acres of open space and developed land. The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department develops, manages and maintains programs at these parks. People of all ages in the community enjoy year-round events hosted at the parks Community Centers. Some popular annual events include Operation Splash, Inland Empire Senior Games, The Veteran's Day Parade, Winter Wonderland and more. The department encourages and supports active living through their youth and adult sports programs. There are summer programs for the children and many senior services programs as well.

Back to Nature Program

The San Bernardino Back 2 Nature program is a grant-funded program designed to get the City of San Bernardino residents out of the house and Back 2 Nature. To ensure everyone has access to natural areas, the Back 2 Nature program is designed to remove all barriers that would otherwise keep the community from enjoying the outdoors. Equipment, transportation, and food are provided for all trips.
