The City of San Bernardino Celebrates
National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1st
The City of San Bernardino will join thousands of communities across the nation on Tuesday, August 1st to celebrate the 40th year of National Night Out from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Rudy Hernandez Community Center, located at 222 North Lugo Avenue in Manny Moreno Park.
The free family event brings together members of the community and the San Bernardino Police Department in a festive environment. Activities will include free jumpers, a petting zoo, face painting, community resources, vendors, and even push-up contests with police officers.
Held annually on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is a community-building event that promotes partnerships between community members and police, and builds neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Originally held in 1984, National Night Out is held in all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.
San Bernardino’s 2023 National Night Out is a partnership between the San Bernardino Police Department and the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.
