Economic Development is responsible for providing professional services that focus on 1) marketing to enhance the City image and showcase the City's assets and opportunities; 2) business retention and attraction efforts to encourage job creation and increase general fund revenue; 3) workforce development efforts to provide residents access to quality local jobs; and 4) building strategic partnerships with intergovernmental and community based agencies such as local educational institutions, medical service providers, businesses, state, local, county, and regional entities, and local joint power authorities to both leverage and attract funds and resources.

Reference USA - Consists of various modules including the business database of 24 million U.S. businesses containing information such as address, phone number, type of business, number of employees and sales. Advanced searches can be made with various limits including geography. These results are of interest to business people, job hunters, marketers and others. Among the other modules are a database of 4 million new businesses, a Lifestyle/Consumer database of more than 262 million American consumers with demographic information; some 2.5 million available jobs and internships from Indeed.org and the residential database including phone listings for 89 million U.S. households.
